Cheers! Finally someone commented on my boxarts, those took an embarrassing amount of time for me to make... the Lego-ing is by far the easiest part.
The logos I made in Inkscape trying to match the styles of the official ones. Since I don't know typography I had to just pick a reasonably similar font, tweak the vector-graphics paths by hand, then add whatever applicable effects.
For the build I usually use a Studio POVRay render whenever I can (see my two earlier posts), but this time I couldn't because some key parts aren't available and I haven't learned how to 3D model them yet. So it's back to using my potato phone camera on the physical build and lassoing afterwards.
The other box assets are either traced from the original boxart and/or cobbled together from various GIMP functionalities. I'm no expert and the results are far from stellar, but if you're interested feel free to PM me for more details!
Fun set with a surprising number of SNOT bricks/brackets, and also other parts in uncommon colors. One can probably get a lot of mileage out of alts for this... if only it (and the whole Dreamzzz line) got more attention.
One thing though, so that no one else has to spend a whole hour staring at the instructions wondering what you've done wrong: while there are indeed 12 black 1x3 plates as listed in the inventory, only 8–10 are actually used concurrently, depending on which model you're building:

The logos I made in Inkscape trying to match the styles of the official ones. Since I don't know typography I had to just pick a reasonably similar font, tweak the vector-graphics paths by hand, then add whatever applicable effects.
For the build I usually use a Studio POVRay render whenever I can (see my two earlier posts), but this time I couldn't because some key parts aren't available and I haven't learned how to 3D model them yet. So it's back to using my potato phone camera on the physical build and lassoing afterwards.
The other box assets are either traced from the original boxart and/or cobbled together from various GIMP functionalities. I'm no expert and the results are far from stellar, but if you're interested feel free to PM me for more details!
One thing though, so that no one else has to spend a whole hour staring at the instructions wondering what you've done wrong: while there are indeed 12 black 1x3 plates as listed in the inventory, only 8–10 are actually used concurrently, depending on which model you're building:
