This small box appears like a simple box, however by pushing on the right spot on the side, a hidden drawer appears. Both sides are identical - making it a fun challenge to find the right place to push to open the drawer. It's a playful way to hid a token, treasure, or gift. It's a great starter design for someone interesting in building something fun with a twist.
At 120 pieces, I designed the box to be affordable and customizable in color. The design as shown is ~$10 and uses a combination of standard bricks, tiles, and plates. Feel free to change up the tile tops to something else - or remove them all and keep it simple.

I made it! Nice concept for a drawer. Thank you for sharing the design. I found the drawer was too loose initially. I adjusted the back part of the drawer by removing the furthest back 1x4 tile and 1x4 plate, then re-placed them semi-loosely. They still looked good but filled out the space more so that the drawer wouldn't fall out when picked up. This may be an obvious adjustment to experienced builders, but I'm new to Lego (I make boxes in wood).

I found the drawer was too loose initially. I adjusted the back part of the drawer by removing the furthest back 1x4 tile and 1x4 plate, then re-placed them semi-loosely. They still looked good but filled out the space more so that the drawer wouldn't fall out when picked up. This may be an obvious adjustment to experienced builders, but I'm new to Lego (I make boxes in wood).
This box requires some firm connections to make it work well.
Love that you make boxes out of wood - very jealous of your craft!
