Glossary

Many terms are used on Rebrickable, some of which may be confusing to new users. Here is a collection of some of the more commonly used terms, a brief description, and links to further information.

Alternate Build A type of MOC that can be completed only using the parts from a single LEGO set.
Assembled List A list of parts you have marked as assembled so the parts will be excluded from build calculations.
B-Model A model other than the main model of a set where LEGO has provided instructions. such as with 3-in-1 sets.
Badges Badges can be earned by completing different tasks, such as publishing MOCs, submitting change requests, or even just owning a lot of LEGO. Badges on the main site are different to badges on the forum.
BI Building Instructions.
Blog Where Rebrickable bloggers share set reviews, MOC reviews, new features and other articles.
Build Engine A calculation tool to see if you can build a specific set/MOC based on your available parts. Can also be used to search for sets/MOCs that you can build.
Change request A way for a user to report an error in the database, or provide additional information.
Compare tool A way to compare two inventories to see what parts are shared and unique. Can also be run on custom lists.
Coupon A secret code that can be created by MOC designers to provide a discount for thier premium MOCs.
CTR (MOC Analytics) Click-through rate. The number of times a MOC has been clicked as a percentage of it's impressions. Higher CTR is better and means users are more interested in your MOC thumbnails.
Custom List A list of sets/MOCs/parts that you do not own, such as a wishlist.
Designer The designer of a MOC. Where the word designer is displayed next to a user name, this means that user is on the designer plan.
Discount A way for MOC designers to temporarily reduce the price of their premiun MOC.
Fan Photo Any user is able to upload photos of MOCs they have built, these are displayed on the photo tab of the MOC page.
Follows A way to show appreciation to a designer and be notified of future MOC/Workbench releases. Following will add a designer to your followed designers list.
Forum The best place to go if you have questions about Rebrickable, notice a bug, or need help with something.
Guest Someone without a Rebrickable account. Guests can buy MOC instructions but have a limited time to download them after purchase.
Ignored sets Sets that will be excluded from build results.
Impressions (MOC Analytics) The number of times a MOC has been displayed in a tile/thumbnail to users, eg in search results, related MOC listings, etc.
Inventory A list of parts needed to build a set or MOC. Some sets have multiple inventories.
Levels A measure of how many points a user has achieved. Some levels have rewards.
LIB LEGO Idea reBuild, also known as a c-model. A model where LEGO has provided an image, but no instructions. Such as back of the box builds.
Likes A way to show appreciation for a MOC. Liking a MOC will add it to your liked MOCs list.
Lost Part Where a set in a set list is missing a part, you can mark this as lost so it will not be considered as part of your collection.
Minifig A type of sub set including all the parts needed to build a Minifig/Minidoll.
MOC My Own Creation. A user submitted design that can be built with LEGO.
MOC Timeline A timeline where you can list MOCs that you have built.
Modification A type of MOC that is related to an official LEGO set where extra pieces are needed to complete the build.
My LEGO Collection A summary of all the LEGO parts in your collection including both set and parts lists.
Part An individual LEGO element.
Part List A list of loose parts that you own.
Part Relationship A way to show links between different parts, such as mirrored parts, or mold varients.
Partial Alternate Build A type of MOC that can be completed only using the parts from multiple LEGO sets.
Points Points are awarded for contributing to Rebrickable in a positive way. These are used to level up.
Poll Questions that users are able to vote on.
Premium A MOC that is not free.
Price Watch A way to be notified if a set becomes available below a certain price.
Pro A user that is on the pro plan.
Profile Profile pages are where users can introduce themselves and show off MOCs they have created.
Rebrickable This website! A place to find new things to build, keep track of your LEGO collection, and share MOCs you have designed.
RebrickNet This feature is currently in development and is a way to identify LEGO parts from an image.
Set An official box of LEGO parts sold by LEGO.
Set List A list of sets that you own.
Spare Part A part that comes in a LEGO set that is not included in the inventory on the instruction booklet, and not required to build the set.
Sub-Set A section of the main build of an official LEGO set, that makes sense on its own.
Suggestion Ideas from users for new features. Voting on suggestions makes them more likely to be implemented. These are found on the forum.
Tags Can be applied to MOCs, parts, sets, blog posts, and are a way to link related items.
Workbench A personal blog for users.
