With over 12,000 Minifigs in the Rebrickable database, it can be a challenge to find the right one. Especially as characters often have multiple Minifig varients.
As Minifigs are a type of set, the finding Minifigs page is in the sets menu. To start, go to Sets> Find Minifigs. From there you can click on a popular theme or recent year, select a theme or year from the drop down menu, or enter a search term. You can search with the Bricklink, BrickOwl or BrickLink set numbers, the character's name or another term that is likely to be in the name of the Minifig.
There are also advanced search options that can be used. This allows for the following additional options:
Choose to limit results to sets you have in your collection
See only sets that were used in a specific time frame
See only sets that have a specific number of parts
See only sets that contain certain parts
To further refine your results, you can click Show Drill Downs > text under the search box. Note this only appears after you have run a search.
This allows you to filter out multiple tags, themes, or years, as well as showing you how many search results fall in each category. If you want to exclude a small number of years, untick the ones you don't want and click Apply Filtersto see the results. If you only want to include a small number of years, clickNone to untick all the items, and then you can tick only the ones you want. If you want to go back to having all included you can click Clear. This is useful as clicking Apply Filters will remove unticked items from the list, Clear is the way to get these back.
Other Ways to Search
If you want to see what Minifigs come in a specific set, these can be seen at the bottom of set inventories.
If you want to see what Minifigs use a specific part, you can enter this into the advanced search, or you can go to the Minifigs tab on the part page. You can then filter this list using the options on the side.
If you want to see all Minifigs of a specific character, go to any Minifig page of that character, and then go to the Related Minifigs tab.
